To keep your windows and doors working effectively and looking good, there are a number of measures you can carry out. These are fairly routine and won’t take up too much time.
Windows (houses)
For safety reasons, we have designed your upper floor windows to be cleaned from inside. If you choose to use ladders to clean upper windows, please be careful where they rest – they may cause damage to the exterior of your home.
Windows (apartments)
For safety reasons, some windows will not open fully to enable you to clean them externally. In this case the managing agent will usually arrange cyclical cleaning.
PVCu
Please use a mild detergent as a solvent cleaner could cause discolouration.
Hinges
We recommend that you regularly oil all door/ window hinges and locks (especially those on garage doors). This should be done at least twice a year.
Replacement Window Units
If you have to replace a double sealed window unit due to accidental damage, please use a specialist company.
Fire Safety Precaution
Houses: In the event of an emergency, please be assured that the upper floor windows are designed for easy escape.
Apartments: Door closing mechanisms and fire resistant door seals are there as a fire safety precaution.
